I am so excited to be your guide to festive events across the state! I love holiday activities, but trying to do everything can add up fast. I hope this helps you plan your weekends and partake in great events without breaking the bank. Every featured event will be $25 or less!

Tuesday, December 20th - Friday, December 23rd

Movie Nights - Al. Ringling Theater - Baraboo - $10 Adults & $8 Kids

The Holiday Movie Festival will bring five classic Christmas films to the Al! It all starts with a sing-a-long version of White Christmas on Dec 20, followed by Home Alone on Dec 21, Elf on Dec 22, a matinee PJ party showing of Polar Express on Dec 23, and the grand finale of It's a Wonderful Life on the evening of Dec 23.


December 20th - 23rd & 26th - 30th

Zoo Lights - Henry Vilas Zoo - Madison - $10

Experience the Zoo after hours under the glow of almost one million lights! All tickets include unlimited carousel rides. Santa will be available for pictures every night until December 23rd. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.


Tuesday, December 20th - Saturday, December 24th

Santa Trolly Tour - Wisconsin Dells - $19.99 Adults & $12 Kids

Ho! Ho! Ho! A great family holiday tour! Dells Trolley departs on a fun filled holiday lights adventure with hot chocolate and photo ops with Santa.


Thursday, December 22nd - Saturday, December 31st

Night of Lights - Mount Olympus - Wisconsin Dells - $10

Enjoy a half mile walk through Mt. Olympus’ Outdoor Theme Park and see how over 1 million lights transform the park for a dazzling light show! Tickets include the indoor water and theme park!


Friday, December 23rd

Holiday Date Night - Downtown Baraboo - Last minute shopping at your own budget!

Round out your shopping with extended shopping hours at the local businesses. Once you’ve crossed everyone off your list, take a moment to experience the Christmas magic with dinner and a cocktail before the busy weekend begins. Hayden and I will definitely be out getting last minute gifts that night, and we plan to finish the night off with cocktails at Con Amici–their peppermint-barktini is remarkable!


Friday, December 23rd

Holiday Hurrah! - Red Arrow Park - Milwaukee - $10 to skate

Join Santa and his helpers for one last holiday hurrah before the big night! See toys come to life, go ice skating on the "Slice of Ice" rink, and enjoy some free hot chocolate and donuts.


Christmas Eve - Saturday, December 24th

Christmas at the Highland Farm - Van Dyne - $20 at the door

Join Highland Farm for a magical Christmas farm experience. Tickets include hot cocoa, cookies, and keepsake ornaments to decorate and take home. There will be a live petting zoo, scavenger hunt, and Christmas music to enjoy!


Friday, December 30th

Dueling Pianos - Grateful Shed - Wisconsin Dells - Free Show

Check out the Dells’ food truck park with Wisconsin’s very own Dueling Piano Entertainment! They have a request-based, interactive, hilarious, sing-along/clap-along show that covers practically every music genre!


Saturday, December 31st

Noon Year’s Eve - Knuckleheads - Wisconsin Dells - Free

Give the little ones the New Year’s experience without keeping them up to midnight! It’ll be a day they’ll remember!


THURSDAY NIGHTS

Devil's Head Thursday Night Special - Merrimac, WI - $18 Lift Tickets

Starting at 4pm, lift tickets are ONLY $18. Hit the slopes without breaking the bank! This special goes on every Thursday all ski season long. I recommend packing your own cooler with food and drinks to tailgate in the parking lot. It makes for such a fun night!


ALL DECEMBER LONG

Wild Lights - Milwaukee County Zoo - $18 Adults & $16 Kids

**There’s a promotion on Wednesday, December 21st– it’s only $12 for all ages to attend!

I love the MKE zoo, and I’ve always wanted to check out the wild light show! Bundle up and stroll the zoo at night and take in the fabulous animal themed light show.


ALL DECEMBER LONG

Nutcracker in the Castle - The Paine Art Center - Oshkosh - Self Guided Tour $16

See the historic mansion decked out in christmas decor and watch the story of the nutcracker unfold as you move throughout the rooms. I visited The Paine back in April and it was absolutely beautiful– I can’t imagine how fun it must be to see them bring the story of The Nutcracker to life!


ALL DECEMBER LONG

Rotary Lights - La Crosse - Free

DOG-FRIENDLY EVENT! This is one of the best holiday events I have ever been to! There’s a great ice rink with free skate rental, magical carriage rides, and free s'mores by the fire pits to warm your belly. Highly recommended with the family or on a date night. Hayden and I will be heading there for a date night soon!


ALL DECEMBER LONG

A holiday experience the whole family can enjoy! Each room is decked out, and no two Christmases are the same. They’ve got it all–from glitz and glam to train tracks and teddy bears around the trees.


ALL DECEMBER LONG

Tree of Light - WI Dells - Free

DOG-FRIENDLY EVENT! A towering 55-foot silver maple tree showcases thousands of lights, making it the only light display of its kind in the Midwest. Stroll along the Dells River Walk and view 75 holiday trees while you take in the gorgeous views of the Wisconsin River.
